Cooking from our Allotment Garden

Mrs Wood and P4 turned the last of our tatties and onions from our garden into  Rumbledethumps.  Delicious and healthy.

Christmas Truce

This film was created by our P4 and P5 class and is their interpretation of the Christmas Truce. The class worked with their teachers, Miss Black and Mrs Wood and a wide range of partners. This included our Artist in Residence, Graeme Milne who worked with different classes throughout the school to create the stunning art work you can see in the film. The class also worked with one of our parents Sue Thomson, Children’s Minster at St Columba’s Church to explore the meaning behind the story. We are very fortunate to have Anna Hamilton, Vocal Instructor, as part of our team at the school and the music adds a rich dimension to the film.  P4 – 7 all learned Silent Night in German for this film and for our Christmas Nativity.

And, we are lucky enough to have Rob from Aberdeen Football Club work with P4 and P5 on their football skills!

Primary 5 worked with artist Graeme Milne and their teacher Miss Black to create these recruitment posters. The original poster contained an image of Lord Kitchener encouraging men to sign up for the Great War.  The class have been reading ‘Private Peaceful’ by Michael Morpurgo and identified with the character Tommo.  He lied about his age because he wanted to be recruited for the War.
